TECHNOLOGICAL PARK
General services building of the León Technology Park
Location: León, Spain
Client: Parque Tecnológico de León
State: Competition, finalist
Year: 2005
The proposal seeks to respond to the high level of representation that the building requires, to make it an architectural benchmark, due to its spatial and aesthetic qualities, as well as its technical characteristics in terms of the greater use of natural resources to achieve the highest energy efficiency of the same. The proposal is materialized as a clear and resounding volume, which responds to a clear and functional programmatic organization, but which also thanks to its double skin, which meets energy efficiency criteria, achieves a perfect integration into the environment through the entire set of transparencies and glazes that are created. The building is located at the southern end of the plot, parallel to the main avenue of the Technological Park of León, and adjacent to its main access. Very close to this access to the site, a large skylight, which rises above the average height of the building, emphasizes the access point to the building that leads to the general hall of the same. The northern end of the plot is released for use as a surface parking lot, in which a tree mass is also integrated that occupies the surface of the plot not occupied by the building.
